Becoming a member of the Brazos Valley Marine Corps League Detachment #1391 means continuing the lifelong bond of “Once a Marine, always a Marine.”

 

Our members uphold the proud traditions of the Corps while serving our community, mentoring fellow Marines, and supporting veterans and their families. Through camaraderie, service, and patriotism, we honor our shared legacy and ensure that no Marine stands alone, ever.

Who Can Join?

We welcome all community members to join, from current service members and veterans to civilians. 

Whether you are a Marine, FMF Corpsman, FMF Chaplain, or a member of the Brazos Valley community, we are looking for anyone that wants to join a motivated Detachment that gets things done!

What We Do

Honor & Preserve Marine Corps Traditions

We preserve and celebrate the history, values, and proud traditions of the United States Marine Corps - honoring those who earned the Eagle, Globe, and Anchor and the memory of Marines who gave their lives in service.

Strengthen the Brotherhood of Marines

We unite active-duty, reserve, retired, and veteran Marines building lifelong camaraderie, mutual respect, and fellowship rooted in the Marine Corps spirit: Once a Marine, Always a Marine.

Support Marines, Veterans & Their Families

We look after our own by providing mentorship, transition assistance, VA support, and direct aid to Marines, FMF Navy personnel, and their families - ensuring no Marine stands alone.

We promote patriotism, service, and responsible citizenship - inspiring Marines to continue serving their communities with the same honor and dedication shown in uniform.

How to Join

You can join online or print our application form. Choose whichever option works best for you below.

Complete a Short Application Form

Fill out the online membership application and sign electronically. 

Alternatively, you can print a copy of the application and complete it by hand.

Include Service Documentation

Attach your DD-214 or other proof of honorable service online or include a copy with your printed application.

Pay Membership Dues

Submit your membership dues through the secure online payment system or, if completing a print form, submit as directed by detachment leadership.

Submit & Await Approval

Your application will be reviewed and confirmation will be sent once approved.

If you completed a printed form, you can:

  • Hand the completed form and other documentation to detachment leadership at a meeting, or

  • Scan and email the form and other documentation to commandant@brazosvalley1391.org

Membership FAQs

  • Marines, FMF Corpsmen, FMF Chaplains, and anyone that wants to join a motivated Detachment that gets things done!

    To join online, login to the membership dashboard page with the button below. You will be asked to fill out a membership form (which you may print out and send manually or by filling out a form), and view your membership status which will be updated upon review from staff.

  • Marines, FMF Corpsmen, and FMF Chaplains.

  • Any person that is not a Marine, FMF Corpsman, or FMF Chaplain.

  • Ownership of any uniform item is not required as a condition of membership.

    That said - the scarlet and gold cover with gold EGA cap ornament is required to be considered 'in uniform.'  This cover is worn at events and activities to help provide visibility for our Detachment in the community.

    Other uniform items are available for purchase, but are optional.  See Enclosure A of our Admin Procedures for more details.

  • Yes - Dues are paid annually and are renewed each year by September 1.  A new member's first dues may be pro-rated based based on their join date.

    If you join between July 1 through February 28, your dues are $35. 

    If you join March 1 to June 30, your dues are $20.

    Once a member has been in good standing for one year, they are eligible to become 'Paid for Life Members' - which is pro-rated based on age.  (Life members do not pay annual dues.)
